Nordic greetings,

Wow, what a week of extreme weather we’ve had! The heat stopped play on Thursday, and the rain nearly did the same on Saturday, but we would not be beaten!

Reminder that my birthday weekend walk on Saturday is slightly longer than usual, and we’ll be following it with a drink in the Hand and Sceptre. Come along if you can! The more the merrier!

Sorry no Ashdown adventure this Tuesday as my daughter’s graduation ceremony is that day, so I’ll be sipping champagne instead of water on Tuesday evening!

If you’d like a slightly different type of Nordic walking experience come to Wednesday whistle stop tour or Thankful it’s Thursday, both at 6.30pm on alternate weeks this week Wednesday. We use strength and conditioning exercises that are suitable for all abilities, take a leap of faith and give it a try! Check out the description on the website for more information.

Nordic Well being begins this week on Southborough common cricket ground. If you’re thinking of taking your first tentative step into the wonderful world of Nordic walking, then please come along. It’s very gentle, aimed at those who are inactive, recovering from surgery or overweight. Also, if you’d like to work on your balance which is often overlooked as a form of exercise and if over looked can lead to falls in older age. If you’ve never used Nordic poles before, please also book onto the Free Familiarisation session that runs immediately before it. Spread the word if it’s not for you…………

This week’s schedule:

31st July 9.45am Nordic Well being Familiarisation Session
