Is a Nordic Wellbeing walk what’s missing in your life? If you are feeling lonely or unfit, maybe you’re becoming overweight or perhaps you’re nervous about a walking group because of your age but are in need of some exercise or simply worry you’ll get left behind, then please come along! We have a mixed ability group and generally finish with a coffee and a chat which gives everyone a feeling of belonging. Spread the word, we need more on board for this session, I know the need is out there, but it’s getting the message across. Help me out here…
Thursday evening was so gloomy, but we didn’t let that put us off. We took off at a decent pace leaving behind any negative vibes we’d picked up from our busy day. The weather deteriorated and soon we were under steely grey skies with London rain drizzling down. Yep, we had a thoroughly soggy walk but arrived back to do our stretch with the usual glow and smiles. Well done all!
We stepped into shape on Saturday from the cricket green on TW common. A bright fresh start to the day with the promise of Autumn in the air. (see picture attached) With no stiles or cross-country obstacles to slow us down we got up a good pace. Then came the steep hill up to the Beacon – it was a challenge and the group split into silent determined packs, ‘Heads up I called, looks to the top, see your goal’. Rosey cheeks and smiley faces surrounded me as we took short break for breath at the top. Good effort!
