News 14th September

It was great to welcome so many of you to the new Learn to Nordic walk course that started on Saturday. Let’s hope the weather continues to be as lovely in the coming weeks as you continue your Nordic walking journey.

In the dim light, in the soft light, we trod our way across Ashdown forest on Wednesday evening for our last cross-country evening walk this season. We threw out the sensible book and skipped for part of the walk – what fun! And it’s easy on the knees. As the sun set and the soft peach edged clouds scattered above us, we kissed farewell to the long summer evenings.

Then before we knew it Saturday morning was here. The velvet morning carried us across Eridge park. See photo insert for a glimpse of the morning sun on the lake as the lilies raised their heads towards the light.

NOTE: Could I ask all of you to please have a mask with you on all walks. It’s unlikely you’ll need it but to be on the safe side should be in a position where poles apart social distancing is not possible. FYI I also keep a few in my first aid kit should I need to administer first aid.
