News 14th June 2021

Hello all,

Mike and I had a super holiday in the west country, the weather wasn’t quite a sunny as here in the south east, but we had a good time seeing a few sights, walking and collected driftwood from the beaches to light the wood burner in the evenings! Good to be back today, hence late new letter.

Note from Carole:

Thank you to those that joined me last week on some lovely sunny walks in Groombridge and Ashdown Forest.  We were truly blessed with blue skies and amazing panoramic views.

We had the pleasure of doing our warm down amidst a beautiful herd of cows and their calves after our Tuesday evening sunset walk up at Old Lodge Reserve. They weren’t at all concerned about us, which was a bonus!

Yesterday on the hottest day of the year so far we managed to get a lovely walk in at Wren’s Warren on the Ashdown Forest before the heat became too much. We had a gentle breeze and dipped in and out of the shady parts, Flick found some wild orchids on route and we were greeted along the way by various four legged friends.  The reward at the end of a challenging hill was a magnificent view at the AA Milne memorial stone picture attached.”
